The 388th had over 500 crews during the war (July 17, 1943 to May 20, 1945). Most of these crews consisted of 10 men who spent their time together and in some cases spent their last days together.
The goal of each crew was to survive long enough to be able to join the Lucky Bastard club. The unlucky ones either sacrifriced their lives for us or spent some horrible time in a POW camp.
